Price is like an iceberg: 
What’s above the water is the price you see. 
What’s below the water are the historically complexifying operations of an evolving cybernetic entity whose function is to exchange information at levels of increasingly inhuman complexity.
“The API Line” divides the two sides of price: 
Above the line is where you are as a consumer – the user-facing $9.99 price. 
Below the line is price activity not legible to the ordinary consumer.
Price is more than a number. 
Price is a communication channel that contains, indexes, and signals oceans of information via a price discovery procedure. This is the ‘umwelt’ of price.
